L. Joyce Taylor Scholarship Application

Use this form to apply for the L. Joyce Taylor Scholarship. One fall 2013 student teacher will be awarded the scholarship. To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:

(a) The recipient(s) must be a full-time student at Eastern Illinois University in a major leading to Teacher Certification, and must be in good academic standing.

(b) Financial need is a consideration. This award has been established to offset the cost of student teaching expenses in order to overcome the financial barriers that exist on the way to becoming an excellent educator. We will consult with the Financial Aid Office to make this determination.

(c) The applicants shall submit a 1-page essay outlining their future educational and career plans.

(d) The recipient shall demonstrate a commitment to teaching underserved populations.

The scholarship winner will be placed to student teach in a school that presents the opportunity to student teach with underserved populations.

Current applicants must be planning to student teach in fall 2013.
