Dr. Barria (Ph.D. Missouri-Columbia) teaches courses in Asian politics, international law and human rights and comparative politics. Her research interests include separatist movements in Asia as well as international and domestic institutions of human rights. Her publications include Designing Criminal Tribunals: Sovereignty and International Concerns in the Protection of Human Rights (co-author Steven D. Roper) as well as articles in various journals. She currently serves as Vice-President Elect of the Human Rights Section of the American Political Science Association.
