Eastern Illinois University has been designated as a Military Friendly School by GI Jobs Magazine every year since the inception of the award in 2010. Our commitment to supporting veterans, military service members, and military family members is also recognized by EIU being awarded the Illinois Governor’s Award for Excellence in Veteran Education for 2012. We are only getting started and will continue to provide dedication and steadfast commitment to our military community.
Consistently ranked in the top third of Midwest universities in its class by U.S. News and World Report, Eastern has earned its reputation by offering a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs taught by an experienced and caring faculty. In addition to reasonable tuition, fees, and room and board rates, Eastern offers a textbook rental system, saving the average student hundreds of dollars per semester.
This excellent cost-to-education is demonstrated in that EIU has a lower tuition than the median cost for universities in Illinois, and so veterans coming to Eastern Illinois University would not benefit from the Yellow Ribbon Program!
The Military Assistance Center is committed to assisting those who served or are currently serving in the U.S. military, and their family members. We synchronize support with many University departments and services to provide coordinated services and resources in a one-stop location to ensure that all military service members are afforded the greatest opportunities for success.
