Eastern Illinois University is located off Interstate 57, about 50 miles south of Champaign and about 40 miles north of Effingham. Once you get into Charleston, you will see our main landmark Old Main, on Lincoln Avenue.
Check-in for orientation will begin in the MLK Jr. University Union. The MLK Jr. University Union can be found east of Fourth Street, by taking the diagonal path in between McAfee Gymnasium and the Commemorative Courtyard. Our orientation leaders will be stationed along the path to the MLK Jr. University Union to guide you to the Grand Ballroom for check-in.
Parking for orientation is available in the Lantz Arena parking lot (E-lot). This parking lot is located west of Fourth Street. Parking is also available in the J Lot. This lot can be found by turning onto Grant Avenue off of Fourth Street. View all parking options for Orientation here.
