Welcome Weekend offers educational and social opportunities for you to learn about community expectations and how you connect to Eastern – opportunities that will provide you with a solid foundation for both personal and academic success.

Fall Welcome Weekend 2024 begins on Friday, August 16, 2024 and you will be required to participate in events throughout the weekend prior to the first day of classes.
Civic & Citizenship programming will help you become a responsible citizen by providing standards and expectations for integration into Eastern, Charleston, and greater communities.
Academic Programming will provide a myriad of opportunities for you to become familiar with academic expectations. Outside of class, activities with faculty will introduce you to the intellectual life of the University.
Wellness programming will provide information on the importance of staying healthy. Learn how to maintain your health – both physical and mental - and how it impacts academic performance.
Traditions and Culture Programming, which will introduce you to EIU traditions, history, and campus culture, and will foster an appreciation for the role of diversity in Eastern and Global Community.
Social connections events will provide you with structured ways to become involved in activities on campus. Events will help you develop personal relationships with others, as well as introduce you to campus organizations and activities.
