EIU BSB in Business Administration

EIU Resources for Students in the B.S.B. in Business Administration Program

The following resources are available through EIU for students enrolled in the B.S.B. Program.

Academic Advisor

After you are admitted to Eastern Illinois University as a Business Administration major, you will be assigned an Academic Advisor.

Your advisor:

  • Is available throughout the semester to answer questions and provide support;
  • Is a resource to help you understand the requirements of your major and find services you might need at EIU;
  • Will help you develop an academic plan appropriate for your career and life goals; and
  • Will consult with you each semester to help you prepare for registration.

You can find your advisor’s name by logging into PAWS. Click on the Student tab, then “Student Records” and then “View Student Information”.

Textbooks

EIU uses a textbook rental system. Textbooks will be mailed to you for online classes.

All students, enrolled in all online courses and who reside outside of Coles County, must provide a current and accurate street address for shipment of textbooks by contacting Textbook Rental Service via email at textbks@eiu.edu. You must provide a street address as UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box. Please include your name and E-number in your email along with your full street address including city/town, state, and zip code. If you reside locally in Coles County, you will need to pick up your textbooks.

At the end of the semester, you will receive instructions on returning the textbooks. Your fees include the textbook rental fee.

PAWS

PAWS is the student online system that helps you keep track of your academic life. Your PAWS account allows you to complete important tasks (like registering for classes) and provides access to lots of information including:

  • Records: Grades, Transfer Evaluations, Degree Audit, Application for Graduation
  • Registration: Printable class schedules, web-based registration, and drop/add capabilities
  • Financial Aid: Aid award information, required documentation needed to complete the application, and loan eligibility amounts
  • Business Office: Amount owed for the current semester, a breakdown of current charges, and due dates

Access PAWS from:
EIU’s home page: https://www.eiu.edu
PAWS website: : https://www.eiu.edu/pawslogin/

New students: To access PAWS, you will need your EIU Net ID and Net Password. This information is available in your MyEIU portal.

PantherMail (email)

EIU and the School of Business will send important information to you through your EIU Email Account. Please set up your email account and check it regularly!

See www.eiu.edu/panthermail/ for further information.

Desire2Learn (D2L)

Desire2Learn (D2L) is a web-based system that is used for delivery of online classes. You will need to become familiar with the system. To access Desire2Learn, click on the "d2l" link on the University Home Page or go to: www.eiu.edu/d2l/
