Education and outreach programming designed for public school populations is a major focus for the Tarble Arts Center. These programs serve as a valuable classroom resource for east-central Illinois schools. They are funded in part by Tarble Arts Center membership contributions, the Illinois Arts Council Agency, and other co-sponsors as listed.
(formerly Children's Art Exhibition)
The annual Art in Motion exhibition (formerly Children's Art Exhibition) is held at the Tarble Arts Center in May and provides an opportunity for area art teachers to showcase their programs. Organized in cooperation with the area art teachers, this exhibition features works in a variety of art media by area K-12th grade students. Exhibition participation packages are mailed to Art teachers in January. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's exhibition will be postponed to Fall 2020. Stay tuned for more details.
Each year, through a partnership with Consolidated Communications Inc., Cultivating Creativity: Consolidated Communications Traveling Children’s Exhibition, an exhibit of art selected from the annual Art in Motion, is toured throughout east-central Illinois to showcase area school art programs, demonstrate the importance of the arts in the school curriculum, and encourage interest in the visual arts.
This program is sponsored by Consolidated Communications.
The 2019-2020 Cultivating Creativity: Consolidated Communications Traveling Children's Exhibition is currently on hold until further notice.
