The EIU Dancers is an RSO sponsored by the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Department dedicated to furthering the understanding and appreciation of dance on Eastern's Campus and the surrounding community. The present group was founded in 1981 and usually consists of between 15 and 20 Eastern students from many different majors. Rehearsals are held through the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 PM.

The annual spring concert features modern dance, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and character pieces. The group's intoduction to the public is their annual performance at Eastern's homecoming pep rally. The dancers also perform for smaller Eastern functions and the area's public schools when invited. Groups may even get the opportunity to travel and perform. A previous group was fortunate enough to visit New York City, take master dance classes at The Broadway Dance Center, and perform at the Intrepid aircraft carrier.
