Counseling Header

The new experiences and greater independence that normally come as students move from high school to university life, while exciting, are also sometimes quite challenging and stressful.

Each year, the Counseling Center provides personal counseling to over 600 undergraduate and graduate students at Eastern Illinois University. The Center is staffed by psychologists, counselors, and graduate students, and the services rendered to students are free, voluntary, and confidential. The Center's staff is dedicated to assisting students in their pursuit of personal and academic growth, to helping students gain a better understanding and appreciation of themselves, and to supporting students as they make important decisions about their lives.

Visit us on the first floor of the Human Services Building Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. You may also contact us at 217-581-3413. In case of emergency please call the counseling center at 217-581-3413. For after hours emergency contact our emergency number at 217-549-6483. You also can refer to our emergency services link on this page.
