The Black Student Union has been the proud sponsor of the annual Miss Black EIU Scholarship Pageant for over four decades. The pageant is the most celebrated event held in conjunction with African American Heritage Month.
Since its inception in 1971, Miss Black EIU has provided a cultural experience for various women. Throughout the years, it has allowed women to have a sense of pride, appreciation and express cultural awareness. Many women have accepted the challenge of competing for the crown and honor of representing Eastern's African American community as the next Miss Black EIU.
Please join us for the 42nd Annual Miss Black EIU Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Entrants will compete in four categories the night of the event: creative expression, African garment, talent, and impromptu question with evening gown. Prior to the pageant, the ladies will also participate in an interview with a panel of preselected judges.
For those interested in entering or assisting with the Miss Black EIU pageant should contact pageant coordinator Miss Black EIU 2012 Keiyanna Franklin or pageant adviser "TBD".
