A Message from the Student Life Office
The Student Life Office enriches the EIU student experience beyond the classroom through social, cultural, and educational programs. We celebrate diversity, foster leadership, and support student involvement.
As part of the Dean of Students, our mission is to help students grow through co-curricular experiences that build leadership, civic responsibility, and respect for others. Our professional staff is committed to creating a student-centered, supportive environment where students can thrive.
The Student Life Office takes administrative responsibility for student government, campus entertainment (University Board), Black Student Union (BSU), Latin American Student Organization (LASO), Culturally Based Fraternity/Sorority, leadership support services, and more than 150 registered student organizations, all designed to promote leadership opportunities, innovative programs, and meaningful relationships outside the classroom.
Signature events include Quakin' the Quad, First Night, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Pantherpalooza, major concerts, Up All Nite, La fiesta Latina, the MBEIU Pageant.
