In accordance with state law, all students have the option to designate a person to receive their private mental health information in the event that a determination is made that the student poses a clear danger to himself or herself, or others. Once such a determination is made by a physician or qualified examiner, that person shall attempt to notify the student’s designated person within twenty-four hours.
All new students will receive either a written or electronic form asking them to authorize a designated person or to decline such authorization. While students are not required to submit a form, the university shall make its best efforts to have new students complete the form.
