Textbook Rental Service provides the students of Eastern Illinois University with quality textbooks at an affordable cost. This service enables all students, regardless of their financial resources, to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered at the university and participate fully in their learning experiences.

Textbook Rental Service is located at 975 Edgar Drive at the Louis M. Grado Building.

Directions


If you drop or withdraw from a course, you must return all associated textbooks within the designated time frame to avoid charges.  In addition, all textbooks not needed should be returned immediately. 

Textbooks can be returned inside our facility during regular business hours or, for your convenience after business hours, please utilize our exterior book drop located under the awning at the Northeast corner of our facility.


It is extremely important for all of our students to access their EIU e-mail account throughout the academic year, including scheduled breaks, to receive information from our department.

Please Note textbook fees and late fines for dropped/withdrawn courses

Remember to return all textbooks, from dropped or withdrawn courses, within the designated time frame to avoid charges.


Textbook Rental Service News

- You may return textbooks that are no longer needed for your courses or that you are finished with at anytime during the semester without incurring any charges, with the exception of those associated with dropped/withdrawn courses.

Spring 2012 Textbook Sale Dates

The Graduate Purchase Option expires on Friday, April 6th for textbooks currently checked out for the Spring 2012 term.

The regular textbook sale for textbooks currently checked out for the Spring 2012 term will be from Thursday, March 1st through Friday, April 6th.


In order to expedite the textbook distribution/return process, we strongly encourage students to bring their Panther Card ID and a copy of their textbook pick-up information/current issued textbook listing from PAWS. Textbook Rental Service is now WIFI accessible.  If you have an internet or WIFI accessible phone or ipod, you can access your textbook pick-up information/textbooks issued for current course schedule from the following url: http://tbmobile.eiu.edu. We also recommend a waterproof book bag or another type of protective method for transporting your books, to and from our facility.

There is no penalty for textbooks returned at any point during the semester/term prior to the return deadline, with the exception of textbooks associated with dropped/withdrawn courses.  For your convenience after business hours, please utilize our exterior book drop located under the awning at the northeast corner of our facility.

The deadline to return Spring 2012 textbook will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 3 p.m.  Please review textbook information via PAWS for a complete listing of textbooks checked out for the current semester.  Late fines will be charged per book and posted to individual student accounts immediately following the return deadline.  Late textbooks will only be accepted during the five-day grace period.  All textbooks returned after the established deadline and during the five-day grace period are subject to a per book late fine.  After the five-day grace period, no textbooks will be accepted and all late textbook charges will be posted to the associated student account along with the previously posted late fine charges.  There are no refunds.  This five-day grace period will expire Friday, May 11, 2012, at 4:30 p.m.
