Textbook Rental Service provides the students of Eastern Illinois University with quality textbooks at an affordable cost. This service enables all students, regardless of their financial resources, to take advantage of the educational opportunities offered at the university and participate fully in their learning experiences.
Textbook Rental Service is now open at the new building located at 975 Edgar Drive.
Directions By Car
From the North: Eastern Illinois University can easily be accessed from Interstate 57 by taking exit 190. From I-57, state Route 16 east becomes Lincoln Avenue upon reaching Charleston city limits. EIU is located on Lincoln Avenue; you will first see Old Main, which resembles a castle and is the northernmost point on campus.
From Lincoln Avenue, turn right (south) on Ninth Street going through 2 four-way stops, then turn left (east) on Edgar Drive. Textbook Rental Service is located on your left (north side of the street).
From the South: Route 130 to Edgar Drive. Turn left (west) on Edgar Drive. Textbook Rental Service is located on your right (north side of the street).
On Foot
Textbook Rental Service is located east of Carman Hall and south of Greek Court on Edgar Drive.
Please Note textbook fees and late fines for dropped/withdrawn courses
In order to expedite the textbook distribution process, we encourage students to bring their Panther Card ID and a copy of their textbook pick-up information from PAWS. Textbook Rental Service is now WIFI accessible. If you have an internet or WIFI accessible phone or ipod, you can access your textbook pick-up information from the following url: http://tbmobile.eiu.edu. We also recommend a waterproof book bag or other protective method for transporting your books.
Textbook Rental Service News
- Fall 2010 textbook distribution is at our NEW FACILITY located east of Carman Hall and south of Greek Court on Edgar Drive.
- If you drop a course, you may return all associated textbooks inside our new facility during regular business hours or, for your convenience after business hours, please utilize our exterior book drop at the Northeast corner of our new facility.
Fall 2010 Textbook Sale Dates
The Graduate Purchase Option expires on November 18th for textbooks currently checked out for the Summer term.
The regular textbook sale for textbooks currently checked out for the Summer term will be October 1st through November 18th.
