Must be a Junior or Senior, majoring in Physics,
of outstanding character whose actions and conduct positively reflect
upon EIU.

Valdez Kinderman Scholarship:
Must be an undergraduate student majoring in Physics & have the potential
to successfully complete the degree program.
Preference shall be given to a minority or female student, but not to
the exclusion of the other criteria listed.
The academic record of the student in the area of Physics, Mathematics
and the sciences is considered.
Irvin
L. Sparks Memorial Scholarship:
Recipient shall be a high-school senior, EIU freshman or Sophomore majoring
in Physics.
Recipient must show high scholastic talent, be able to acquire recommendations
if requested from his/her high school physics and mathematics teachers,
and prepare a written statement concerning the scholarship.
Robert
C. Waddell & Leyla J. Peck Waddell Prize:
Must be a full-time student, majoring in Physics.
Recipient must have the highest GPA in Physics. If there is a tie between
possible recipients, then the recipient must have the highest overall
GPA. If there is still a tie between possible recipients, then the oldest
recipient shall receive the award.
The recipient must be a Junior at the time the award is paid.
The recipient must have been at Eastern for his/her freshman and sophomore
years.
Dr.
Henry A. Taitt Physics Scholarship
At the time
of application, the candidate must have applied to Eastern Illinois University
to become a full-time Freshman student majoring in Physics and must be
interested in teaching high school physics.
Dr.
William Butler Physics Scholarship
The recipient
may be a high school senior or enrolled in good standing as a full-time
Eastern Illinois University freshman/sophomore, majoring in Physics.
High school
seniors must present recommendations from their Physics and Mathematics
teachers and a written statement documenting the candidate's intent
to major in physics.
