Our M.S. in Counseling program is CACREP-accredited and provides a 60-credit hour dynamic curricula for students interested in certification as school counselors or licensure as licensed professional counselors.
Our M.S. in College Student Affairs program is for students interested in leadership careers in the field of student affairs in higher education. We adhere to CAS standards and are leaders in innovative programing.
Qualified Faculty: The CSD department has an outstanding, caring, and accessible faculty composed of individuals who are extensively qualified as instructors and also have impressive experience in the field.
First Choice Graduate Program: Both the Counseling and CSA programs are recognized by EIU as programs that meet the highest standards of scholarly excellence as evidenced through sustained achievement.
The Department of Counseling and Student Development houses two master's degree programs: the M.S. in Counseling and the M.S. in College Student Affairs.
Our M.S. in Counseling is a "First Choice" 60-hour program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP). Students can pursue an emphasis in either Clinical Mental Health Counseling resulting in License Professional Counseling (LPC) or School Counseling resulting in K-12 Certification in School Counseling (Type 73).
The M.S. in College Students Affairs (CSA) is a "First Choice" 48 hours degree program that provides a dynamic curriculum for students interested in leadership careers in the field of student affairs in higher education.
