Installing software at Parkland College - faculty should contact Anna Peterson (217-351-2543, eiu@parkland.edu) for approval from Parkland's Technology Department. This should be done well in advance to the start of the semester. Concerning the LCD projection systems at Parkland College, please be sure the LCD projection systems are shut off that are fixed permanently in the rooms. As you may be aware, the bulbs are very expensive and the motor life becomes shortened. Also, lock the classroom doors upon leaving so theft will not be an issue. If you are trying to use an LCD projection system and you get a blue screen with words such as "Notevision"... and you can't change the remote to get the correct "input" to show the computer monitor screen, there is a good chance someone has unplugged the projector from the computer. The solution is simply to plug it back into the wall plate (be sure the white and red sound cables are also plugged in). Directions for the projection equipment in the classrooms - is on the inside of the right door panel of the computer carousel. If you are planning to use it, you may want to come a half hour early to have time to read through this information before your class . Please Note: Not all classrooms have this equipment, so you must request it ahead of time to ensure you have it for your class.
