Our Mission

Student Government will strive in every aspect of their respective office to promote diversity, leadership, service, and integrity. Student Government members shall maintain a progressive state of mind in order to respect the student body in regards to their positions. Student Government will protect the rights and interests of the students while also enhancing the quality of the EIU experience through the power that is vested in them by Eastern Illinois University.

Student Senate has weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola Room on the third floor of the MLK Jr. University Union. Check out our committees to see when they meet. If you would like to see us in action, find out more about what we are doing for you, or if you would like to speak to us directly, come to the meetings. Our Senate meetings are open to the public. Constitutional Amendments
Student Government is in the process of amending your Student Body Constitution. It will be a referendum on the regular Fall Student Government Election ballot on December 7 & 8.
