The Governing Body of Eastern Illinois University
Our Mission
We, the students of Eastern Illinois University, desiring to maintain academic freedom, academic responsibility, student rights, and to foster the recognition of the rights and responsibilities of students to the University and Community, do herby ordain and establish this Constitution of the Student body of Eastern Illinois University. This Constitution shall supercede any Rules or Bylaws adopted by any student governing boards, except when in conflict with university, state and federal policies.

Student Senate has weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola Room on the third floor of the MLK Jr. University Union. Check out our committees to see when they meet. If you would like to see us in action, find out more about what we are doing for you, or if you would like to speak to us directly, come to the meetings. Our Senate meetings are open to the public.
