The Student Life Office is a department within the Office of Student Programs, dedicated to helping student "make things happen."
Through various programs and services, it is our mission to provide a variety of co-curricular experiences designed to enrich the social, cultural, educational and personal development of EIU students; promote student leadership, civic responsibility and respect for diversity; empower and encourage EIU students to reach their full potential in a student-centered, supportive environment. Our trained, professional staff works collaboratively and is dedicated to the personal growth, development and success of students within the EIU community.
The Student Life Office takes administrative responsibility for student government, campus entertainment (University Board), multicultural programming, leadership support services and more than 200 registered student organizations, all designed to promote leadership opportunities, innovative programs and meaningful relationships outside the classroom.
Annual programs and events include Quakin' the Quad, First Night, Homecoming Week, Family Weekend, major concerts, Pantherpalooza, MBEIU Pageant, Up All Nites, Pantherstock and the iLEAD workshop series.
Our office provides numerous services and programs aimed toward assisting EIU students, and we encourage them to take advantage of these countless opportunities as they explore their personal interests, learn new skills, take on leadership roles, join student organizations and meet new friends!
