New Principal Preparation Program Deadlines:
As you have heard, new program requirements for the Type 75 Principal Endorsement will be going into effect September 1, 2012. Students starting our principal preparation program before that date will proceed under the current rules and regulations. Students starting on or after September 1, 2012 will be subject to new requirements. Students who start prior to September 1, 2012 must complete all the courses by May 10, 2014. This is possible if students take two courses per semester as prescribed by our cohort program schedule. If students do not complete all the coursework by May 10, they will be subject to the new program requirements.
In addition to our regularly scheduled on-campus classes, we are currently exploring the possibilities of starting the following new master's level cohorts as follows: Decatur (fall 2012); Champaign/Parkland (fall 2012); and a new Mount Vernon Educational Specialist Cohort (fall 2012) that will lead to the superintendent's endorsement.
If you are interested in participating in any of these off-campus cohorts please notify Shannon Schwab syschwab@eiu.edu.
