Register for Volunteer Opportunities
Student Community Service offers transportation to select service events as well as hosts events close to campus. This is a good option to check out for students who may not have transportation. Check out our register online page, and reserve your seat today!
Check out Local Non-profits
Student Community Service works with over 50 local non-profits in Charleston-Mattoon and the surrounding area! Click here and check out local non-profits. Non-profits are broken down by topic. Each non-profit talks about who they are, what their needs are, and contact information. Feel free to contact non-profits on your own and see how you can make a difference!

Conveniently located on the third floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union (room 3065), the Student Community Service office also does the following:
- - Provides informational resources on community needs.
- - Assists student service organizations.
- - Connects student groups and individuals with agencies.
- - Connects the greater community and the university.
- - Offers consulting to strengthen community service-related programs.
- - Educates students about community service via workshops.
- - Conducts outreach with community agencies and student groups.
