Our Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is specifically deisgned to meet the uniqe educational goals of both nontraditional adult learners and traditional-aged students seeking a customizable degree path. Whether you are balancing adult life responsibilities or building a tailoared academic plan across multiple fields, our program offers a format and structure that adapts to you.

Flexible Learning and Experiences

We offer an accommodating schedule with a variety of ways to complete your coursework. You are not required to come to campus to complete your degree, though we strongly encourage traditional-aged students and local learners to experience our vibrant Charleston campus. No matter where you study, you will have direct acces to dedicated advisors via email, telephone, Zoom/Teams, or in-person appointments.

Key Benefits of the IDS Program:

• Tailored Curriculum: Combine coursework across multiple departments to align with your personal interest or career goals, with the option to earn up to two minors.
• Credit for Prior Learning: Earn real college credit for what you already know through:
  • National Standardized Exams such as CLEP, DSST, and Excelsior/UExcel subject matter exams.
  • Develop a Prior Learning Portfolio (with guided help) to converted documented work and college-level knowledge. 
• Maximum Transfer Flexibility: Transfer up to 100 existing credity hours from any regionally accredited college/university (including 80 hours from community colleges) to finish your degree faster.
• Core Skill Building: Complete foundational courses foxued on self-directed leadership, critical thinking, and academic transition.
