Dr. Michael Mulvaney
Michael Mulvaney joined the EIU faculty in 2006 after receiving his Ph.D. from the Department of Recreation, Sports & Tourism at the University of Illinois. Michael's areas of research include human resource management functions in public park and recreation agencies, management and organization of public park and recreation agencies, learning technologies in employee training, and planning processes in park and recreation agencies.
Courses Michael teaches at EIU include: research & evaluation in leisure studies, computers in leisure service agencies, pre-internship, introduction to leisure service agencies, and world leisure. Before enrolling at the University of Illinois, Michael was employed with the Decatur Park District in a variety of capacities including, Assistant Manager of the Decatur Indoor Sports Center, Fitness Coordinator, and Special Recreation Supervisor.
