Joining Rec. Club has made my involvement as a Recreation Administration major a truly unique one. Rec. club gives students the opportunity to engage in numerous social events and outdoor activities, such as our annual fall BBQ, progressive dinner, spring banquet, canoe and camping trips, and scavenger hunt.

We are also able to experience a part of the real world at the Illinois Park and Recreation (IPRA) Conference, attending educational workshops and making professional connections.

Within the recreation field you are given the opportunity to combine all skills and qualities you have to improve the satisfaction in peopleÕs lives. Also, as a recreation administration major you are given the chance to work with people of all ages from children to elderly. Everyone recreates, and itÕs our job to see that they are getting the most out of their leisure experience.

The experiential form of learning not only grabbed my attention, but helped me pick recreation administration as my major here at Eastern Illinois University.
