EIU Student Life Office “Pie-in-the-Face” RSO Policy

The EIU Student Life Office recognizes that one of the benefits to becoming a registered student organizations (RSO’s) is the importance of RSO sponsored events. Pieing or a Pie-in the Face is defined as the act of a pie being received in the face of a participant.
EIU recognizes the popularity and entertainment value that such RSO sponsored events have within the EIU community. However, proper precautions must be in place in order to ensure the proper safety of EIU students, faculty, staff and guest participants. EIU is committed to maintaining a safe campus environment that supports learning, living and leisure activities within the EIU community. Pie-in-the-Face events are to be entertaining and not harmful to participants.
RSO sponsored “Pie- in the Face” events and/or fundraisers on university premises must be approved a minimum of 1-week in advance of the event by a designated university office/department/personnel.
