Overview

In this program, students develop strong musicianship and compositional skills while exploring music within its historical, cultural, and intellectual contexts. Theory and Composition students receive individualized instruction in composition, continue developing their skills on their primary instrument, and build a strong foundation through comprehensive coursework in music theory. Elective credits provide the flexibility to tailor the degree to individual interests, allowing students to explore areas such as performance, music technology, conducting, music history, or other areas of musical study.
