The BAAS in Emergency Management & Disaster Preparedness prepares working professionals and first responders to lead emergency response efforts, coordinate disaster preparedness initiatives, and manage crises at organizational and community levels. This FEMA-approved program combines emergency management theory with practical, real-world application. Your 27-credit core curriculum includes Community Health, Research Methods, Disaster Preparedness, Health Care Delivery Systems, Epidemiology, Health Behaviors, Planning Health Programs, and Health Administration. You'll complete two 6-credit internships—which can be based at your current employer—allowing you to apply learning directly to real emergency management projects. Choose 9 elective credits that complement your professional experience, and earn up to 12 additional credits through Credit for Prior Learning for certifications and specialized training you already hold.
