The Traditional 2+2 Nursing Pathway provides students the opportunity to begin their nursing education at Eastern Illinois University before transferring to an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Students complete two years of prerequisite coursework at EIU, building a strong foundation in the sciences, general education, and essential skills needed for success in a professional nursing program.
After completing the required coursework at EIU, students may apply to transfer to a variety of accredited BSN programs to complete their nursing education and prepare for licensure as a registered nurse (RN). Because the BSN degree is awarded by the transfer institution, students must meet the admission, curriculum, and graduation requirements of the institution they choose. Requirements vary by program, so students should carefully review each institution's admission criteria, costs, financial aid opportunities, and application processes.
Completion time: 2 years
