Overview

The Civic and Nonprofit Leadership option in Political Science is a social science major that focuses on public administration and public policy. This major provides students with key critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and ethical skills, to be prepared for a wide variety of careers in government, public administration, non-profits, public policy advocacy and research, and the private sector. Examples of courses include:

  • Civic and Nonprofit Leadership
  • Human Resource Management in Government and Nonprofits
  • Budgeting in Government and Nonprofits
  • Interest Groups & Lobbying
  • State & Local Government
  • Introduction to Public Policy

  • We offer an accelerated graduate program for qualified students, where you can earn a B.A. and M.A. in 5 years.
  • We offer a 3+3 B.A./J.D. degree with Northern Illinois University for qualified students.
