INTRODUCTION

Now in his 27th year at Eastern Illinois University, Rettberg currently works in the College of Education, as Office Manager in the Department of Educational Leadership in Buzzard Hall.

He previously was an Office Support Specialist in the same office from 2015-2020 in the Department of Secondary Education & Foundations (now referred as Department of Teaching, Learning & Foundations) as well as from 1995-2005 as a member of the EIU Department of Panther Athletics

From 2005-2015, Rettberg was promoted to the position of Assistant Sports Information Director in athletics, where he designed media guides, posters, programs, flyers, and covered the sports of volleyball, softball, swimming, women's rugby, tennis & golf.  He also continues his multi-year experience as NCAA computer statistician for men's & women's basketball, football, and volleyball.

His current office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Rettberg is the proud dad of two rescue pups -- Buford & LouLou.

 

 

 

 

Education & Training

In the spring of 2004, Rettberg earned two full Bachelor of Music degrees from Eastern -- the first in Piano Performance, and another in Music Theory & Composition -- while earning multiple Dean's List, Outstanding Performance and Honors Recital kudos.

 

He is currently a non-traditional graduate student studying Music Composition and Piano Performance at Eastern.

Community

A 39-year member of the Charleston community, Rettberg has performed with the EIU Oratorio Society, Camerata Singers and Concert Choir as a baritone and/or pianist/accompanist.

A highly sought-after pianist/accompanist/organist, he continues to share his love of music with a variety of church groups, soloists, ensembles, and area musical theatre productions, while also composing his own music full-time.
