Hi, my name is Matt.  I liked learning about Abraham Lincoln because he is an important part of our history.  I enjoyed learning about the Civil War and how he helped free the slaves in the south.

    I had a lot of fun with my Project WOW Team.  We learned a lot of important facts about Abraham Lincoln.  He was our sixteenth President of the United States.  There is a monument in Washington D.C. dedicated to President Lincoln.  He fought to free the slaves.

    Hello, my name is Tricia.  I am a senior Elementary Education major at Eastern Illinois University.  I had a great time working with my Project WOW team members, Sam and Matt.  We created many tools to go along with our learning such as an Abraham Lincoln timeline, a map tracing Lincoln's journey to the White House, and we wrote letters to Lincoln from the standpoint of a Civil War soldier.  We view Abraham Lincoln as an Illinois Hero because of his many contributions he made to Illinois as well as to the United States.  He was a great president who died for our freedom.
