INTRODUCTION

Kathleen Phillips, former professor and Intern Coordinator in the Department of  Public Health, taught health education professional preparation courses at EIU since 1978. During her career, Dr. Phillips authored articles and made numerous presentations on professional program assessment and internship practices. She successfully completed the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) requirements in 1989 and the Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) requirements in 2011. Dr. Phillips retired in 2019 after 41 years at EIU. She now teaches as an adjunct professor for the Department of Public Health,
