Shanyra
Hello, my name is Shanyra McGlown.  I am a senior elementary education major with a Spanish concentration at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.  I am 21 years old and originally from Fairview Heights, Illinois. I enjoy reading, and I LOVE Winnie the Pooh!! My favorite  books are the Harry Potter books.  My global hero is Hans Christian Andersen.  I chose Andersen because of his many contributions to society and his accomplishments personally as a man.  I benefited greatly from this assignment and hope that this will be an inspiration for many young people to follow their dreams despite life's obstacles.

Hi!  My name is Ashley, and I am a senior at Eastern Illinois University.  My major is Elementary Education with an art concentration.  I will be student teaching in a first grade classroom next semester, and I am really looking forward to it.  I greatly enjoy working with children and helping them learn.

I love animals, and I really enjoy reading in my spare time, so I was happy to be a part of the Hans Christian Andersen global hero team.  Hans Christian Andersen was a great man who contributed greatly to creating stories for children.  Despite the hard times and poverty in his childhood, he managed to earn an education and write marvelous poems and stories.  Children of all ages enjoy these stories and fairy tales.

I really enjoyed being a part of the Hans Christian Andersen global hero team for project WOW.  I hope others will benefit from these web pages as much as I did, and grow to appreciate the contributions of Hans Christian Andersen.
