EIU Ultra Marathon Challenge

We welcome anyone from our EIU community (Students, Staff/Faculty, Alumni, local community members) to join us for our Homecoming Ultra Marathon Challenge as we celebrate EIU's 125th anniversary! We invite you to cover 125 miles between August 24, 2020 and October 31, 2020. You can run, walk, bike, roller blade, elliptical, or pogo stick your way to the finish line. 

The first 200 people who register for our Virtual event AND who complete the 125 miles will get a free event shirt. This is a free event for everyone.

FAQ’s

How long do I have to cover 125 miles?
You have 69 days starting on August 24^th and ending at midnight on October 31, 2020 to cover a total of 125 miles.

How do I track the mileage and report that I've finished?
This will be done on the honor system. If you say you covered one mile, then we will believe you. Earn good karma, and tell the truth.
Track your mileage: Enter whatever distance you cover on a daily basis using this form.

What if I cannot get outside to cover the distance?
We encourage you to get creative. Maybe you can walk laps around your house, your backyard or use a treadmill/stationary bike/elliptical. If you have specific questions about if a specific activity would work, give us a call (217) 581-3967.

How will I receive my shirt?
Depending on what our social distancing expectations are in late October/early November shirts may be picked up on campus, or we will mail the shirts to our participants. Stay tuned!
