Anam Cara Scholar Fund

Description:  Established in 2010, the Anam Cara Scholar Fund holds the following eligibility criteria: The recipient shall be a full-time or part-time student in academic good standing, majoring in a program leading to teacher certification, and enrolled at Eastern Illinois University. The recipient will complete a goal statement that includes his/her financial need, educational goals and how majoring in a program leading to teacher certification will benefit him/her and society. Preference will be given to applicants who are first generation college students, or demonstrate a commitment to the furtherance of issues related to the prevention of domestic violence, or are single, working and head of household. Given that all other criteria are equal, preference shall be given to a female applicant. The recipient(s) shall be eligible to apply for, and receive, the award again provided she/he continues to meet criteria. The award(s) shall be announced in the spring and paid in the fall semester to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University.
