Robert E. Bliss (AKA Sweet Old Bob) Scholarship

Description:  Established in 2014, this scholarship was created in memory of Robert Bliss, an Eastern Illinois University business graduate and a long-time employee of State Farm. Criteria for selection are as follows: The recipient must be an undergraduate student majoring in Management, Marketing, or Finance or a graduate student in the Master of Business Administration program, accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The recipient must be a resident of an Illinois county that is south of interstate 80. Preference will be given to student(s) with residency in Effingham County, Illinois or McLean County, Illinois. Students must submit a brief essay that demonstrates their potential in their career field. Financial need is a consideration. The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for the award again provided he/she continues to meet criteria. The award(s) shall be announced in the spring and paid in the fall semester to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University.
