Duane Elbert Summer Assistantship Annual Fund

Description:  This assistantship was created in memory of Dr. Duane Elbert, founder of EIU's graduate program in Historical Administration, to provide a stipend for a graduate assistant for research, teaching and/or service in the summer for 1.5 month contract. Criteria for selection are as follows: The recipient must be a fully-admitted graduate in the Historical Administration program accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The recipient must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. To provide a stipend for a graduate assistant for research, teaching, and/or service in the summer for a 1.5 month contract. If a graduate assistant is not available then the award may be awarded in the following priority: 1. to recipient(s) in a current Historical Administration class with an unfunded curatorial or collections internship; 2. to recipient(s) in a current Historical Administration class with an unfunded internship; 3. to recipient(s) in a current Historical Administration class with a funded curatorial or collections internship; 4. to recipient(s) in a current Historical Administration class with a funded internship. Financial need is not a consideration. The recipient(s) are not eligible to receive the award again. The award(s) shall be announced in the spring and paid in the summer to a graduate student in two installments.
