Robert Hennings Historical Administration Scholarship

Description:  Established in 2012, the Robert Hennings Historical Administration Scholarship was created in memory of Robert Hennings who served as Chair of the History Department for sixteen years. Criteria for selection are as follows: the recipient must be a student seeking a degree in Master of Arts in Historical Administration and must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Applicants are to submit a research paper completed over a course of the Master of Arts in Historical Administration academic year. Applicants should also provide a one to two page reflection on his/her professional goals- including how the academic preparation they have received in the Historical Administration program has supported those goals, and what they expect to get out of their internship. Financial need is not a consideration. The award would be designated, first, for an Historical Administration student with an unfunded internship; second, for an Historical Administration student with a funded internship, should there be no unfunded students. The award(s) shall be announced and paid at the end of the Spring semester to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University.
