Established in 2014 by Paul E. ('79) and Alison P. Hoffman and Paul's brothers Eric ('80), Kurt (ex '79), Drew ('84 and '86) and Ted ('87) in honor of their parents Ernest and Janis Hoffman who encouraged and provided the means for all five of their sons to pursue a college education. This scholarship is intended to provide financial support to a student in the School of Business with an interest in human resources that has achieved academic success and has demonstrated strong personal values. Criteria for selection are as follows: The recipient(s) must be a full-time student(s) in the School of Business at Eastern Illinois University. Preference given to student(s) majoring in Management with a concentration of Human Resources Management. The applicant(s) must include a brief summary that describes the recipient demonstrating his/her work ethic, personal values, and motivation to make a difference in their career. The applicant must include a resume. The recipient must maintain a GPA of at least 3.3. The geographic location preference includes the following: 1) Students from Bloomington High School (Illinois), 2) Any other public/private high school in Bloomington or Normal, Illinois, 3) Any high school in McLean County, Illinois, and 4) any high school within the State of Illinois. Financial need can be used as a consideration, but academic record has higher priority. The recipient(s) may be eligible to apply for the award again provided he/she continues to meet criteria.
