Established in 2011, the BGS Degree Completion Scholarship was created to assist non-traditional students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Program who are in need of financial assistance in order to complete their final classes in the program. Eligibility criteria for this scholarship includes the following: the recipient must be a part-time or full-time, non-traditional student, enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies program, and accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Financial need is a primary consideration. The recipient must have one to two classes left to complete their BGS degree. Applicants must submit a letter explaining their current circumstances surrounding the need for financial assistance. Financial need will be verified by the EIU Financial Aid Office. This scholarship is subject to availability of funds. Money awarded will be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient attending Eastern Illinois University.
