Walter A. Klehm School of Technology Award Fund



The fund was established for the legacy of Dr. Walter A. Klehm. Dr. Klehm had 32 years of teaching and administrative service to Eastern Illinois University. Dr. Klehm started in the Department of Industrial Arts, which later consolidated with Technology. Once the departments consolidated then Dr. Klehm became the Director and later Dean of the school. Nominations for the award shall be sought annually by the Committee from the entire faculty of the School of Technology. Nominations for the award shall be made under procedures to be determined by the committee. Criteria for selection are as follows: The award recipient shall be a full-time student, majoring in Applied Engineering and Technology, accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The recipient shall be in good academic standing at EIU. The financial need of candidate(s) shall be a criterion to the extent determined by the committee. Other criteria shall include personal qualities and participation in departmental activities. The recipient may be eligible to apply for the award again provided he/she continues to meet criteria.
