The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of Donna Lynn Connelly, an EIU student from 1985 until August 1988, by her parents. Donna was an exceptional student with a keen sense of business, seeking a professional home economics career. She was very involved in extracurricular activities on campus. Donna's family provides this scholarship opportunity so that a deserving student might continue the traditions of Donna Lynn Connelly. Eligibility criteria for this scholarship includes being a full-time student majoring in Home Economics or General Business, which is now referred to as Family Consumer Sciences with an option of Apparel & Textile Design, Consumer Studies, Merchandising or Hospitality Management. The recipient(s) must be accepted to Eastern Illinois University and have achieved Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status at the time of application. Preference should be given to a deserving student who is in good academic standing, involved in campus extra-curricular activities as demonstrated by membership in Greek organizations, academic organizations, athletic teams, or recognized student organizations. The minimum amount for the scholarship is $1,000. Recipient(s) may be eligible to receive the award again provided he/she continues to meet the criteria. The award shall be announced in the Fall and paid in the Fall semester to Eastern Illinois University and may only be used for tuition, fees, and housing associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University.
