Registration Rural Teacher Corps Form

2025-26 EIU Rural Teacher Corps
The EIU Rural Teacher Corps is a student led organization that provides opportunities for those who wish to teach in rural schools to learn more about those communities. The purpose of the Rural Teacher is to prepare teachers for rural communities who:
• Have a strong sense of place, mission, and rural identity
• Have a more comprehensive understanding of rural “issues,”
• Are savvy communicators, networkers, and users of new media;
• Recognize the imperative to and value of collaboration;
• Are perceived as community leaders and catalysts for change.

The Rural Teacher Corps plans events both on and off campus. Rural Teacher Corps members will work with P-12 educators to develop:
• Site visits to rural schools to learn about the school and community
• Relevant professional learning opportunities
• Develop school-based projects

You may participate as a leader by helping to plan activities, or just attend the events. We will meet with school leaders and faculty to plan some activities for the year in September and begin our monthly meetings on a designated day.

Please complete this form and we will send you updates and invitations to meetings and events. For more information, contact the RTC coordinators (Emily Hall; enhall@eiu.edu or Maddy Habing; mchabing@eiu.edu).
