Ryan Hendrickson's Vita
Ryan C. Hendrickson (Ph.D. Nebraska, B.A. Marquette University) serves as Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs. Previously, he served 2 years as interim dean of the Graduate School and for 14 years as Coordinator of Graduate Studies in the Department of Political Science.
He is the author of three books: Obama at War: Congress and the Imperial Presidency (University Press of Kentucky, 2015), Diplomacy and War at NATO: The Secretary General and Military Action after the Cold War (University of Missouri Press, 2006) and The Clinton Wars: The Constitution, Congress and War Powers (Vanderbilt University Press, 2002).
He is also the author of more than 70 articles, book chapters and essays, which have appeared in a variety of journals and presses, including Georgetown University Press, Armed Forces & Society, Comparative Strategy, Contemporary Security Policy, Etudes internationales, Foreign Affairs, Global Governance, Journal of International Relations and Development, Journal of Slavic Military Studies, Journal of Strategic Studies, PS, Parameters, Political Science Quarterly, RUSI Journal, and Security Dialogue, among others.
His current research projects focus on NATO Secretaries General Fogh Rasmussen and Jens Stoltenberg's leadership of NATO and American military action abroad. He is the recipient of the 2012 Rodney S. Ranes Graduate Faculty Mentor Award and the 2015 College of Sciences Laurence A. Ringenberg Award.
