EIU Major In Organizational and Professional Development

OPD is a distinct field of academic study focused on the understanding of the human aspects of the organization including people, processes, and practices.

Why Choose EIU for OPD

Workplace Learning for Credit

Many students returning to earn a college degree have had significant amounts of workplace training and experience. We recognize that these knowledge and skills have been valuable in shaping who you are as a person, but also what you would like to become within the occupation. The OPD program is designed to support these experiences by awarding credits for prior learning. Your degree may be closer than you think!

Don't take our word for it

"I was already enjoying a successful career prior to entering the OPD program at EIU. I have no doubt that the knowledge and skills I have acquired since enrolling have helped me achieve my most recent promotion as the general manager of a cutting-edge logistics facility. I am looking forward to the completion of my degree which will pave the way for continued advancement within my company."

Misty Melton

"The professors were all extremely knowledgeable and cared for their students. A couple of times the professors made personal phone calls to every student to inform them of their class’s cancelation.”

Wes Meyers, Farnsworth Group
