Overview

The Department of Music offers the Master of Arts degree in Music with concentrations in conducting, performance, composition, and music education. Our graduate curricula are unique in their flexible and comprehensive designs. The Music faculty is deeply committed to providing our students with the utmost in personal attention and opportunities for creative endeavors. As a result, we have an outstanding record of job placement, and our graduates are respected leaders in all fields of music. The concentrations in performance, composition, and conducting are taught on the EIU campus in a 2-year residential program, while the Music Education concentration is primarily an online program with a single, one-week residency.
