Dr. Dudley returns home
Tilford's Parents
Esther and Gerry Dudley, c. 1919
Captain Dudley carefully avoided all personal references and studiously avoided the pronoun ‘I.’ He is evidently another of the group of fighters (medical and military) who, while they took an active part in the war, had rather not tell of their experiences. Men of this type are the kind who perform the deeds for which many of the idle, boasting type claim credit. The physician’s story, despite this lack of personal reference, was highly interesting, and his hearers were extremely sorry when the forty-minute period was over.
