Mandatory Internship Meeting for Spring 2018 Internships

Wednesday, September 13 at 8:00 a.m. OR Thursday, September 14 at 4:00 p.m.
Lantz 2821 (Kennard Club Room)
Attendance at one of these meetings is mandatory if you are doing a Spring 2018 internship!


KSS 4275 Field Experience


An individually planned work experience in a business, agency, or program appropriate to the student's area of specialization. The internship experience is designed to familiarize students with both one's field of study as well as the process of obtaining employment.

Purpose & Expectations:

An internship provides an excellent networking opportunity that could lead to full-time employment. It is expected that you will dress, speak, and act professionally at all times. Your professionalism will strongly influence the job opportunities you receive following your internship. You are receiving college credit for the internship and therefore, it should take priority over other commitments.

Prerequisites for registration

  1. Completion of all coursework for Kinesiology & Sports Studies degree - meet with your undergraduate advisor to determine your eligibility for an internship and whether you need to enroll in KSS 4275 for 6 credits (requires 240 hours of internship work experience), 7 credits (requires 280 hours of internship work experience), 8 credits (requires 320 hours of internship work experience), or 9 credits (requires 360 hours of internship work experience).
  2. Submission of a Degree Audit signed by your advisor verifying you have completed all coursework, the Internship Proposal Form, and the Internship Agreement Form to Colleen Kattenbraker, KSS Internship Coordinator.

 Fall 2017 Interns: 

  • Complete weekly work log sheets (must be typed). Submit every week to Mrs.Kattenbraker. Logs must be signed by your site supervisor.
  • Submit the Mid-Term Evaluation Form when you have completed 50% of your hours.  
  • Submit the Final Evaluation Form when you have completed 100% of your internship hours. Due to Mrs. Kattenbraker on or before December 8, 2017.
  • Write a Final Internship Reflection Paper.  Due to Mrs. Kattenbraker on or before December 8, 2017.

Weekly Logs, Evaluations, and the Final Paper must be submitted via Dropbox in D2L
