Editing and Design

Here is a partial list of the type of careers our alumni build. 

Mike Burke (‘97) is an editor and designer at the Chicago’s Daily Herald, in Arlington Heights, where he produces news and special sections for both print and online.

Heather Hall (‘05) is a production editor at Sourcebooks, Inc., where she works on contemporary and historical fiction, romance fiction, and various topics in nonfiction, managing freelancers and working with acquisitions editors to close clean final files to the printer for publication.

Ashley Holstrom (’13) is copy editor at the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, where she copy edits and designs the paper.

Evan Hill ('06) is a designer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Kristin Menas ('10) is an associate editor for Chicago-based Technomic, a food service research company, where she writes and edits newsletters, news briefs and custom projects for the food service and adult beverage industries.

Carly Mullady ('05) is a Quality Assurance Specialist for Pearson Learning, where she reviews online course materials for top-ranked nonprofit universities prior to launch. She also covers the Chicago Blackhawks and other hockey topics at ThePinkPuck.com and chronicles her three-year-plus battle with Lyme Disease and related illnesses on her own blog, aboutdarnlyme.blogspot.com.

Kyle Pruden (’10) is an editor for the Centralia Morning Sentinel, where he designs pages, writes copy and edits stories for this daily newspaper.

Nike Ogunbodede ('13) is a copy editor/page designer for Gatehouse Media in Austin, Texas. 

Collin Whitchurch ('10) is a team leader for Gatehouse Media's Center For News & Design in Austin, Texas, where he manages a staff responsible for the nightly production of the company's large daily newspapers.
