IT Technical Associate – Windows Systems Administrator

Eastern Illinois University’s Information Technology Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of IT Technical Associate – Windows Systems Administrator.  This position will be responsible for the security, reliability, and availability of a wide range of campus services.

Duties will include: 

• Support cloud services including Desire 2 Learn and Office 365.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain Windows based application services and operating systems.
• Manage upgrades to application software and operating systems.
• Coordinate with software vendors and users to resolve technical problems.
• Coordinate with campus groups/departments to identify and develop technology needs.  Make recommendations for appropriate and cost-effective solutions to meet technology needs.

Required Qualifications:

Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:

1. Progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
2. College course work which included Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or closely related discipline where 30 semester hours equals one year, 60 semester hours or an Associate’s degree equals 18 months, and 90 semester hours equals two years.

Additional Requirements:

1. One year of experience working with cloud based services.
2. Two years of experience maintaining Microsoft Servers.
3. Two years of experience managing applications and servers in and enterprise environment.

The Civil Service Examination for this classification is a credentials assessment.  No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.  Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this IT Technical Associate – Windows Systems Administrator register.
