EIU Housing

Summer 2024 housing in University Court is offered on a limited basis.  Students must be currently residing in University Court for Spring 2024, AND have signed a contract for Fall 2024 in University Court, to be eligible for summer housing in U-Court.  Students can request to live in the same apartment for the summer, but it is not guaranteed.

Students who currently reside in University Court during Spring 2024, but are not returning for Fall 2024 will need to sign up for summer housing in the residence halls.

Students must be enrolled in at least one summer course to be eligible to live in University Court for the summer.  Other exceptions may be considered and questions should be directed to Gary Uteg at gfuteg@eiu.edu 

1. Print a copy of your summer class schedule to submit with your contract.
2. Email Gary Uteg at gfuteg@eiu.edu to set up a time to sign your summer contract
3. Pay $50 Housing Application Fee (if required). 

Summer 2024 information will be available in late March. The info and rates below are for summer 2023.

Summer Housing in University Court begins on May 6 and ends on August 12.  Summer charges will be billed to your student account based on the dates you request.  Depending on your unit type, this daily rate ranges from $16.83 to $18.47 per person based on double occupancy.  You must find your own roommate for the summer or you will be assigned as the sole occupant.  We will not randomly assign roommates.

A 12+ Meal Plan can be purchased separately in the Dining Services Office for either the 4, 6, or 8-week sessions.  In general, a Dining Center will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Monday through Thursday for the dates of May 15-July 21.  Depending on the summer camps/conferences schedule, additional meals may be available on Friday/Saturdays/Sundays.  Dining services will not be provided on May 29, 2023 (Memorial Day), June 19, 2023 (Juneteenth) and July 4, 2023 (Independence Day). Dining Services may also offer limited or no service when there are not camps or conferences scheduled on campus. Students should monitor the online menus for specific dates/times that each center will be open throughout the summer.
